Aerosol rates after Covid19 outbreak in India

The lockdown had many positive consequences on the air quality. Aerosols are tiny atmospheric particles suspended in the air causing air pollution. These man-made aerosols increased a year after year increasing air pollution. This pollution decreased especially in northern India and the East of the United States. The aerosols naturally decrease when the summer begins, but there was a big difference when comparing the lockdown period in several years. In one week of lockdown in India, the aerosol recorded by NASA satellite sensors collapses leveling at a 20-year low in northern India.

This data shows the huge increase in the aerosol amounts in the air from 2016 to 2019 then it started to decrease as the outbreak of the virus and the lockdown begun in 2020. This shows the huge impact of the human activities in the past years which caused a massive air pollution over years.
